The U.S. wastes approximately a third of the food created. This food waste accounts for 6.1% of U.S. greenhouse gas emissions—and in New Jersey alone, it releases roughly 4 million tons of CO₂e every year. Composting offers a powerful solution, but government inefficiencies and high service costs have held back statewide action. We believe affordable composting is the key to making sustainable waste solutions accessible to everyone.
